Bully-Proofing Your School (BPYS) is
a system-wide prevention program designed to help students and adults
work together to create a safe and caring school community where teachers
can teach and students can learn. The program utilizes a team approach
involving administrators, teachers, support staff, students and the community
to change the climate in the school.
Curriculum is
available for early childhood programs as well as elementary and middle schools. The high school curriculum will be published in 2006 with a pre-release version currently available only to BPYS high school workshop attendees.
BPYS
is a comprehensive program with five equally important components:
- Staff training
- Student instruction
- Intervention with the Bullies and the Victims
- Parent involvement
- Developing the Caring Community
Bully-Proofing Trainings/Consultation Trainings
are offered in Denver, Colorado twice a year, or on-site trainings
are available throughout the school year. Trainings are offered for
Early Childhood Programs as well as Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
